Falkirk Football Community Foundation delivers education and employability programmes for the local community. We provide employability, health and wellbeing, lifestyle and sports learning opportunities to over 150 people from across the Forth Valley each year. We are an accredited Scottish Qualification Authority and British Computer Society delivery centre and have excellent links with Forth Valley College.
We deliver a range of employability programmes that align to the Scottish Government Employment Pipeline and Falkirk Council’s Strategic Pipeline. Our programmes start by helping people prepare to join to labour market, through learning about the expectations of work. We provide structured programmes that provide the skills to search for vacancies, apply for positions, attend interviews and gain employment. We also provide practical work experience and specific qualifications, including the Falkirk Employability Award, which demonstrate candidate’s skills and abilities.
We run a specific SQA certified Sport and Recreation course that helps young people develop the skills to coach and work in the leisure industry. Other programmes support parents into employment, provide skills for early school leavers to gain their first position and provide short sharp courses on the digital skills required to apply for positions online.
We work in partnership with a number of bodies to deliver these courses. Two key partners are the Department of Work and Pensions, including Job Centre Plus, and Falkirk Council Employment and Training Unit. These partnerships provide the resource, knowledge and access to participants required; FFCF have the attraction of football, skilled deliverers and links to the community to add real world value to the participant’s experience.
