Goalkeeping academy

If your child is an aspiring goalkeeper, then our Goalkeeping Academy programme will help to learn and develop the skills needed to become a talented keeper.

The Falkirk Goalkeeping Academy offers a comprehensive programme that aligns with our Player Pathway. This programme provides boys and girls, starting from the age of 8, with the opportunity to learn fundamental Goalkeeping skills in a structured and supportive environment. We strongly believe in fostering learning through football and promoting the development of young individuals through physical activity.

At the Falkirk Goalkeeping Academy, our main objective is to enhance individual skills and cultivate the growth of aspiring Goalkeepers. Our programme covers essential Goalkeeping techniques such as handling, positioning, and shot stopping, ensuring that all interested players have the chance to acquire these fundamental skills.

Our weekly sessions take place outdoors on AstroTurf and are conducted by highly experienced and fully qualified SFA Goalkeeper Coaches. These coaches have undergone Child Protection training and hold certifications in First Aid. Additionally, they have all been thoroughly vetted through the PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) scheme.

By enrolling your child in our programme, you are providing them with the necessary preparation for their future in goalkeeping. Classes at the Falkirk Goalkeeping Academy are available throughout the year, following the school term schedule. Each session adheres to a structured curriculum that progressively develops the individual skills of players as the season unfolds. These classes are one hour long and are held at The Falkirk Stadium, providing a professional and dedicated environment for your child’s training.

Aimed at boys and girls aged 8+, the Academy seeks to improve individual skills and develop as a goalkeeper. We offer the opportunity to learn the basics of goalkeeping such as handling, positioning and shot stopping.

The programme features fun hourly sessions each week on the Astroturf at Falkirk Stadium and all sessions are taken by experienced and fully qualified SFA Goalkeeping coaches. All coaches are qualified in First Aid and have received Child Protection training as well as being PVG checked.

Through this programme we aim to encourage learning through football and developing children through physical activity. Goalkeeping Academy classes run in line with school term time and follow a carefully thought out curriculum which aims to prepare your child for the next stage of their career as a Goalkeeper.
