The Falkirk Community Foundation’s Sustainability & Carbon Emissions Efforts

The Falkirk Community Foundation has recently received a significant boost in its efforts to promote sustainability and reduce carbon emissions. Thanks to generous funding from The Robertson Trust, the Foundation is set to go green with the addition of a new electric vehicle. This initiative is made possible through a collaborative partnership with Peter Vardy and FlexAuto.

The Robertson Trust, known for its commitment to supporting communities across Scotland, has provided grants specifically aimed at enhancing transport options for organisations working with vulnerable populations. This funding will enable the Falkirk Community Foundation to have an electric vehicle, which will not only reduce their carbon footprint but also serve as a model for sustainable practices within the community.

Peter Vardy, a prominent automotive retailer, and FlexAuto, a leading provider of flexible vehicle solutions, have joined forces to supply the electric vehicle. Their involvement underscores a shared commitment to environmental sustainability and community support. The new vehicle will be used for various community activities, including transporting essential equipment across the Falkirk and District area and supporting local events.

This initiative aligns with broader efforts to achieve net-zero carbon emissions and demonstrates how collaborative efforts can drive meaningful change. The Falkirk Community Foundation’s new electric vehicle is a testament to the power of partnerships in fostering a greener, more sustainable future for all.

Derek Allison, CEO Falkirk Foundation commented, “We are deeply appreciative of the support from The Robertson Trust, which has facilitated our collaboration with FlexAuto. This partnership has been instrumental in enabling us to acquire an electric van, significantly enhancing our capacity to deliver programmes across the region. The new electric van will greatly improve our efficiency and sustainability in serving our community.”

Craig Lamont, Regional Account Manager at FlexAuto, expressed his support stating, “We are delighted to assist the Falkirk Community Foundation by providing an electric van to facilitate their programs across the Central Belt. The Foundation’s work is commendable, and we are pleased to contribute to their efforts.”
