With the mental, physical and economic challenges the winter months bring to many, the Falkirk Foundation are committed to supporting the community in facing the season’s difficulties. Last Christmas we reintroduced our Winter Campaign in partnership with the SPFL Trust Festive Friends project who provided funding for the campaign to allow us to donate Christmas Hampers, Warm clothing and Toys to members of the community who are most in need.
With the aim of supporting as many people as possible in the Falkirk area, we are hugely grateful for the local organisations and volunteers who made our Winter Campaign so successful. Thanks to their generosity, we were able to deliver 302 hampers and over 100 bags of clothing and toys to members of the community. We worked alongside the following local organisations and foodbanks who do amazing work in the community to ensure the delivery of your donations spread and provide help to those who need it most.
We are pleased to have supported the following groups and organisations:
| Bairns Blether | Kersiebank Community Project |
| Falkirk Blind Club | NHS Forth Valley |
| Bo’ness Food Pantry | NU2U Furniture Project |
| Cyrenians Falkirk | Peoples Church Falkirk |
| Dennyloanhead Community Hall | Strathcarron Hospice |
| Ettrick Dochart Community Hall | Tamfourhill Community Hub |
| Food Train Falkirk |
We are massively appreciative of all the kind donations made by the loyal Falkirk FC supporters who donated over one hundred bags of food, clothes and toys! The additional donations made by Kiltpin allowed the Foundation to buy items to fill even more hampers, allowing more children in the community to experience a magical Christmas. An additional thanks to Tesco for not only making food donations to the Winter Campaign but also allowing us to be part of the Stronger Starts Blue Token scheme which supports thousands of local community projects across the UK.
The physical distribution of the hampers was made possible thanks to Graic and Your Equipment Solutions who offered their staff time for packing and delivering the hampers and generously allowed the Foundation to use their vehicles.
The human element was vital to the success of the campaign. Packing the hampers was made possible thanks to the participants in our Fourth Valley Centre Forward Programme who assisted the Foundation alongside 34 independent volunteers whose commitment made a huge impact on this campaign. We are truly grateful for your time and support.
The festive cheer did not stop there as we hosted two separate Christmas dinners at the Kevin McAllister Stand here at the Stadium with 77 people attending in total. We give a huge thanks to Airth Catering for the delicious food which brought together members of The Blind Club and Bairns Blether group.
We express our gratitude once again for the generosity of our partners and fans who brought kindness in a difficult time of year. We look forward to continuing our journey together throughout the year to bring positive changes to the Falkirk community.
