Falkirk Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of three new members to its Board of Trustees, following its recent recruitment process.
Ronnie Binnie, Karin Gallacher and Graeme Struthers have joined the Foundation Board, each bringing different skills, experience and perspectives that will support the continued growth and development of the charity.
Their appointments come at an important time for Falkirk Foundation as it continues to expand its work across mental health and wellbeing, education and employability, physical health and wellbeing, and football activity. The Foundation now works with thousands of people each year across Falkirk and the wider Forth Valley area, using the power of football and community sport to make a positive difference.
Ronnie Binnie joins the Board with a strong background in business development, as well as a deep personal connection to Falkirk and the Foundation’s work. As someone already involved in the Foundation’s Seniors programme, Ronnie has seen first-hand the impact the charity has on people and communities.
Ronnie said:
“As a Falkirk Bairn, and current Falkirk Foundation Seniors’ player/coach, I am delighted to have the opportunity to join the Board and support the fantastic work the staff and volunteers do for the Falkirk supporters and wider community.”
Karin Gallacher joins the Board with extensive experience in the charity sector, a strong local connection and a real appreciation of the Foundation’s role in making football and community activity more accessible.
Karin said:
“Living locally, I’ve long admired the work of the Foundation, particularly the work it’s done on opening up football to those who would previously not have had access. I’m looking forward to getting started, getting involved and learning even more about the Foundation’s fantastic work, and the people who make it happen.”
Graeme Struthers brings local government experience, community knowledge and a strong commitment to supporting the Foundation’s future direction.
Graeme said:
“The Falkirk Football Community Foundation makes a significant positive difference to the community across the Falkirk area. As a resident of Falkirk, and a Falkirk FC season ticket holder, I’m honoured to be joining as a Board member and having the opportunity to provide my support to the delivery of the Foundation’s activities and contribute to the wider support of our community.”
Charles MacDonald, Chairperson of Falkirk Foundation, said:
“We are delighted to welcome Ronnie, Karin and Graeme to the Falkirk Foundation Board. Each of them brings something different, and that is exactly what we need as we continue to grow and develop our work across the community.
“Our Board plays a vital role in supporting, challenging and guiding the organisation, and these appointments will add further strength, local knowledge and experience. The Foundation has ambitious plans for the years ahead, and having committed trustees who understand our purpose and believe in the impact of our work is hugely important.
“I would also like to thank everyone who expressed an interest in joining the Board. The level of interest was very encouraging and shows the strength of support for the Foundation and the work being delivered by our staff and volunteers every day.”
The new trustees will now begin their roles supporting the Foundation’s governance, strategic direction and continued commitment to improving lives across the Falkirk community.
